The various ranking of poker hands

The winner in the game of poker is ultimately the player who holds the highest hand and the ranking is determined according to a predetermined ranking sequence. This ranking system is almost same in all the five hand poker variations and the players bet their clay chips according to the value of hands they hold with reference to the predetermine ranking sequence.

The best hand and the most rarely attained hand in poker is the royal flush which constitute Ace, King Queen, Jack and ten of the same suit. A player holding a royal flush can very confidently stake their clay poker chips and expect to win the pot. Since a royal flush is the most powerful hand acquiring such hands and playing in the right manner can make a player win huge.

A straight flush is the second highest hand and constitutes a five card sequence of the same suit for instance if a player holds eight, nine, ten, jack and queen sequence of the same suit then he holds the second highest hand in poker and his chances for winning the pot is huge. Hence staking your huge stack of Texas holdem clay chips with a straight flush is safe and would win you huge amounts.

If you hold four cards of the same value then you are having the third highest hand of poker. If you hold four same value cards either an eight or a queen or any other value then you are having four of a kind which is also a good hand to stake your poker chip sets.

The next series of hands that you may see on the poker tables that precedes four of a kind is a full house which is determined if a player holds three of a kind and a pair. If three cards are of the same value and there is a pair then the person holds a full house. You can watch your opponents and guess whether they hold better hands and then stake chips from your chip cases if you feel they hold weaker hands.

A flush is ranked after full house and is formed if the player gets any five cards of the same suit. There are chances of winning with a flush but be very careful and limit betting your poker chip sets in case of a flush. An example for flush is as follows eight, ten, four, queen, seven, five of the same suit.

Other lower hands include a straight which is formed if the player forms a sequence with cards of different suits for instance an eight, nine, ten, jack, queen of different suits. The next rank goes for a three of a kind which is represented by three cards of the same value for e.g. a four, four, and four. Three of a kind is followed by two pairs as the word indicates two pairs of same value cards e.g. four, four and Jack Jack. A pair is what comes after two pair which constitutes two cards of the same value. The high card is the lowest hand ranked and does not posses any combination the highest value is what counts in a high card hand when playing with clay poker chips or Texas holdem poker chips.
