The three main variations in poker

There are basically three main variations in poker which includes community card poker, draw games and stud games. Each of the variations is unique by itself and the most popular among the poker cards game is of course the community card poker. All these poker variations are played around poker tables with poker chips and playing cards.

The community card poker games include games like Omaha, Texas holdem and las Vegas, the Texas holdem being the most popular among all of them. The Texas holdem is a community card game where five community cards and two hole cards are dealt. Betting is made in each of the rounds with Texas holdem poker chips.

The various community rounds include flop, turn and river. In the flop three community cards are dealt. Community cards are cards that are dealt face up and are common to all the players. Once the flop is dealt and the players stake their chips from their poker chip sets they enter into the next betting round where a single community card is dealt this round is termed as the turn.

The river is the final betting round and you finalize your stake of clay poker chips then you go for a show down and the winner of the pot is determined on the final show down. Community card game rules can easily be understood since they are very simple. Since community card games like Texas holdem are preferred by majority of the people they are found in most of the casinos and game rooms.

The next variation in poker is the draw games wherein the players play only with private cards. A popular form of draw game is five card draw where the players are dealt five cards face down which are private to the concerned players and hence cannot be viewed by any other player. Players form their hand and stake their poker chips sets by exchanging their hands a few times.

The stud game is another variation in poker and is found in few of the casinos. Seven card studs is a popular game in this category. In stud poker the players are dealt cards face up one by one. In stud you have no option of hiding your cards or exchanging them. The winner is determined according to the value of hand they posses and the players stake clay chip sets from their chip cases according to their hands.

The community card games are more popular as they are more challenging and involve applying strategies. By mastering the strategies and skills you can consistently win through the game and earn lot of money. But make sure that you limit staking your poker chip sets as all the games involves risks. Setting a limit and staying within the limit would limit your losses. All the variations are fun to play but going beyond your limits would affect you financially. It is better that you purchase chips that you are willing to stake and if those chip are exhausted stop playing further because playing beyond would lead to unbearable losses.
